With the objective of innovating the tourism sector, Architect Enrique Salaverría (RIP) decided to develop in 1979 a new concept of “Apart-Hotel” accommodation, which he discovered on a trip to Portugal. 24 rooms equipped as a small apartment were built in a strategic area, at that moment a «new dream» has begun called NOVO.

Trajectory
After 5 years with good occupancy and growing demand, the hotel was expanded with 25 new units under the same concept, but this time with a standard size. The hotel turned fast into a perfect ally for companies seeking to accommodate their guests for long stays.
In 1996 the restaurant service began to operate, and in 2000, under the administration of Mrs. Carmen García-Prieto Salaverría, daughter of the founder, new changes were carried out to satisfy emerging demands. The rooms for seminars and events were opened, such as the Apaneca room with capacity for 85 people.
Fulfilling our commitment to protecting the environment and the community, in 2009 we began a professional consultancy with AID, CNPML, and COEXPORT / CCAD / CONAIPD for the good management of energy resources and the good use of water.
In harmony with the implementation of good practices in sustainable tourism and training of our staff, the hotel began a certification process through the Smart Voyager seal for the proper management of natural, cultural and social resources in the field of tourism.
After refreshing its ecological image, Novo Apart Hotel decided in 2016 to reinforce its identity and change its name to Novo Hotel & Suite in order to adapt to new trends in the tourism market, and establish itself into a option that offers care and service that meets the highest quality standards.
